Hi and welcome to Louise’s Pet Care. Caring for your pets with compassion. I’m Louise, a Registered Veterinary Nurse from the Midlands. I have worked within the Veterinary profession for 20 years. In 2015 I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing In 2019 I gained my Post Graduate Certificate in Anaesthesia (NCertAnaesth) I love all aspects of nursing but my favourite areas of interest are Anaesthesia and nursing senior patients. After 20 years in the Veterinary industry I decided I wanted to focus on providing individual pet care for owners when they need it. Combining my skills as a Veterinary Nurse and genuine compassion for animals. In January of this year I started to offer Pet care services and have been pet sitting, dog walking and providing drop in visits to pets regularly. ***I can provide care for Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and small furries only*** During my 20 years within the Veterinary industry I have worked within many Veterinary settings including: Emergency Referral Night shifts General practice Charity practices I have worked at a busy emergency hospital in Brisbane, Australia. This was amazing to nurse cases that we don't see in the UK. I learned so much and absolutely loved the opportunity to live and work in Brisbane. 🐾I pride myself on taking care of animals to my very best standard, and that is to each and every animal every time🐾 How do my services work? During initial contact, I will send you some introductory information about myself and the services I provide. This information includes a Pet and Owner questionnaire which I ask is filled out as best as you can with as much detail as possible. This includes information about you, your pet's routine, and your pet's needs. It gives me all the information I need to provide the best standard of care. I will then arrange a one-hour Meet and Greet with you, where I will meet you and your pets and discuss all details of the pet service you require. This gives you a chance to ask any questions and discuss anything you need with me. And gives me a chance to build an initial bond with your pet. Once this has been complete I will finalise the booking. During this time I am more than happy for you to contact me should you need anymore information or a chat about your pet, please let me know if anything changes with regards to your animals health or your home/routine before I provide care. You can contact me by message or call. During the duration I am providing care to your pet I will provide regular updates and I enjoy sending pictures of your pet and what they are up to, if you do not wish for regular updates, please let me know 🙂 What makes me a responsible Pet carer? 🐾 I am on the RCVS Veterinary Nursing Register 🐾I pay yearly to keep my Veterinary Nursing registration and have to complete 15 hours of CPD each year in order to retain my registration 🐾I am fully insured 🐾I always ask that owners fill out a Pet and Owner questionnaire 🐾I always offer a Meet and Greet prior to finalisation of booking 🐾I have my own transport 🐾I am able to medicate pets 🐾I can provide references 🐾I can show verification of my Veterinary Nursing qualifications and registration 🐾I fill out a Pet monitor form each day to make sure each pet is eating, drinking, toileting and showing normal demeanour and behaviour. This helps monitor for any changes. Do you have a holiday booked and need pet care whilst you’re away? Look no further. I am able to provide care for your pets during weekdays, bank holidays, evenings, nights, and can provide last-minute care if you need it. Do you work full-time or long hours? I can help care for your pets when you aren’t there. One-off visits or regular care needed? I can also medicate pets and have an individual pet health care sheet I fill out each day/visit. Who am I away from work? I love to travel. I have been fortunate to backpack around the world, both solo and with friends. One of my biggest travel highlights was backpacking across Japan for two months, it is an absolutely beautiful place. I also enjoy going to antique and vintage fairs, finding new places for coffee and cake and reading. I love going to charity shops and being outside. I currently don't have any of my own pets as I am still heartbroken over losing my cat and therefore it isn't the right time for me and my family. Over the years I have owned two lovely terriers, one border terrier and one parson Russell, two cats, two rabbits, three guinea pigs, three hamsters, three rats and plenty of fish. Should you require anymore information please contact me directly through here I look forward to hearing from you 😊
I provide a Pet and Owner questionnaire so the client can tell me everything I need to know about their pets health and routines. This includes your details, emergency contact details, health conditions and medication instructions, your pets vets information. It also asks about feeding, toileting, routines, and other relevant information. I will also ask you to list if your pet is vaccinated or not, and if they are up to date with flea and worm treatment or not. Please be as detailed as you can with the questionnaire as I refer back to this throughout my pet sits/pet visits/ walks.
We start the morning with toilet breaks and breakfast as early as needed. Whilst pets are eat breakfast I will begin filling out a new pet health monitoring record for that day. This helps me keep an eye on each pets health and mentation and allows me to easily pick up on any changes. I clean each pets bowls each morning and clean their feeding areas. I will do morning house hold and pet jobs each morning before I then take the canine clients out for walkies. My only 2 rules on walkies is waiting for a certain time frame after eating a meal, and no walkies if its too hot. Im happy to take dogs in my car to find different walking environments for them we can explore providing owners are happy with this. I do have one seat belt harness attachment. When we are back from walkies we can relax, play or rest depending on what they prefer. I am able to pick up on ques and body language and won't over do exercise. For cats and dogs I will provide plenty of cuddles tlc grooming and play time with toys, I love spending time lying with them giving them fuss and letting them settle in my company. If you have any particular favourite toys or routines or play ideas for your pets please pass them on to me.
Every booking on Sittsy is covered for free — up to £15,000 of protection for vet care, property damage and more.
