Alex T.'s Experience

I've spent most of my life caring for animals, all of it adoring them, and for the last four years I've also been helping others with care for their dogs, cats, small mammals and reptiles. (I'm particularly fond of large, old and shy dogs!) Currently I live with four pets, two of whom are medically complex, so I know how scary it can be entrusting your pet to somebody else. Every pet has unique needs that I'll always work with you to fulfill, and I'll always do all I can to make you feel as reassured about their care as possible. I have experience administering medication, working with small mammals and reptiles, and caring for dogs with an array of different needs (including separation anxiety) among other things. I'm DBS checked, level 3 pet first aid certified, independently insured and I can provide as many references as you need in order to feel at ease. A little about me - I grew up watching Animal Planet and reading nothing but animal rescue books, had guinea pigs for most of my childhood, and even now my social media is mostly dog training and animal rescue! You can rest assured your pet will be kept safe, treated kindly and absolutely doted on in my care.

A typical day

When I'm not working, a free day could start with taking my partner's family's two dogs on a long walk to tire them out for the day! We go to the park or the woods for a long sniff walk and to chase a frisbee or ball and an occasional sprint over the field! I then might feed and medicate the cat, care for the tortoise and think about dogs some more. Sometimes you can find me volunteering with the RSPCA or studying pet first aid and reptile care.
